One day, Nasreddin Hodja rode his donkey to town for shopping. He bought many things like books, apples, and lemons. He put everything into a big sack. But instead of loading the sack onto the donkey, he carried it on his own back and still rode the donkey.
Seeing Hodja on the village road, the villagers asked in surprise:
— Hey Hodja, why did you carry the sack on your back? Since you’re riding the donkey, why didn’t you load the sack onto it?
